first_img Not all heroes wear capes. Some are just roller coaster-riding guys with lightning-fast reflexes. New Zealander Samuel Kempf recently proved this when he caught an iPhone in midair while riding a roller coaster — and it was all caught on camera.Kempf told New Zealand’s 1 NEWS that he was riding the Shambhala roller coaster at PortAventura theme park in Spain when he saw a rider a few rows ahead on the coaster drop their iPhone X.“Long story short, I caught it,” said Kempf, whose ninja-like reflexes were caught on the on-ride camera. The video shows Kempf reaching over his ride companion to catch the flying iPhone while the roller coaster is going about 83 miles an hour. He then holds on to the iPhone for the rest of the ride, while accepting high-fives from other impressed riders.Kemp told 1 NEWS he later returned the smartphone to the owner.“He was super surprised and happy at the same time,” Kempf said. “He gave me a big hug and said he was going to buy the on-ride video for me.”Kempf is actually a fistball athlete, and was in Spain after representing New Zealand at the Fistballing World Championships in Switzerland — so that could explain his champion-worthy moves.Watch This Next: This Edgeless Concept iPhone Is Out of This WorldMore on Geek.com:1 Million People Have ‘Flown’ on This Star Wars Ride at DisneylandDriver Fights Ticket for Using Cellphone With ‘Hash Brown Defense’Suspect Remotely Wipes iPhone X While It Sat in Police Evidence Stay on target TSA Reverses Ban on ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ Coca-Co…1 Million People Have Flown on This ‘Star Wars’ Ride at Disneyland last_img
