MONTEREY PARK – A pinkish powder found in an envelope at a business here Tuesday caused one woman to become ill and 80 people to be evacuated, but authorities said the substance was harmless.“The contents inside the envelope were a pink granular-type material. It appeared to be less than a quarter of a teaspoon, and it was tested here … by HAZMAT crews and it appears it was some kind of drink mix,” said Monterey Park police Lt. Larry Giannone.The scare began about 3 a.m. at First Data Corp., a bill processing center at 2525 Corporate Place.The woman who discovered the powder reportedly vomited, the lieutenant said.
