Dave Matthews Band Covers Prince In A Set Of Classics On Night Two Of The Gorge

first_imgDave Matthews Band returned to The Gorge Amphitheatre last night for the second night of their annual three-night stand at the storied venue. The band has announced that they’ll be taking an extended hiatus following this run, giving the weekend an extra feeling of importance for fans and band alike. There’s no telling when DMB will return to the stage, so this weekend is a huge celebration of the band’s deep catalog. Night one featured fan-favorites like “The Song That Jane Likes”, “Warehouse”, “Dancing Nancies”, and “Grey Street” (among others), and night two featured more of the same, with a funky Prince cover thrown in and another appearance by Brazilian brass legend Carlos Malta. The band opened up with “Squirm”, before really getting the set started with a pair of beloved tracks in “One Sweet World” and “Granny”. The beginning of the set also featured “When the World Ends”, “Funny the Way It Is”, and a standout “Crush” before the band segued into “Bartender” and invited Malta out for his first tune of the evening. “Bartender” was only played one other time in 2016, so the song was truly appreciated by the DMB faithful who trekked out to The Gorge. Malta would join the band on “Cry Freedom”, Dave Matthews solo track “Gravedigger”, and “Jimi Thing” throughout the course of the evening, adding his signature sound to DMB’s well-oiled machine. After “Jimi Thing”, DMB performed a super-funky cover of “Sexy MF” by Prince that really got the crowd moving, before the band brought their set to a close with “Pantala Naga Pampa” > “Rapunzel”. The band returned to the stage for an extended, three-song encore of “Sister”, “Two Step”, and “Halloween” that put a cap on an excellent evening.Check out the full setlist below, courtesy of setlist.fm. Four people injured in Worth County accident

first_imgNORTHWOOD — Four people were injured after a vehicle swerved to miss a deer in Worth County last night. The Worth County Sheriff’s Department says at about 11:45 Tuesday night, they received multiple calls of a vehicle in the ditch in the curve west of Wheelerwood Road on County Road 105, with one person being ejected from the vehicle. Deputies discovered the vehicle in a drainage ditch after rolling multiple times before coming to rest. There were five people in the vehicle, with four of the five having non-life-threatening injuries. One of the passengers was transported by ambulance while the others sought medical treatment on their own. None of the people in the vehicle have been identified by authorities. The Sheriff’s Department says the cause of the accident was due to the driver swerving for a deer that ran out in front of them.last_img read more
