Ashton believes Guardiola is bound to take up Premier League job

first_imgThe Daily Mail’s football writer Neil Ashton has indicated Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will move to the Premier League in the near future. The former Barcelona coach, who presided over unprecedented success at the Nou Camp, has admitted in the past he would like to manage in England. And Ashton reckons the Spaniard’s next managerial post will be on these shores and he will have his pick of the Premier League’s top clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.“I do forsee it happening one day,” he told Hawksbee and Jacobs. “He will be coming to England at some point in his career. He’s a young coach and he’s an incredibly ambitious young man.“So he will come to England and it’s just a question of timing and when it’s going to happen. He will have a choice of clubs when it does happen.”However, the footbal writer also believes Guardiola will not consider leaving the German giants until he has steered them to Champions League glory. Now he’s at Bayern Munich he will want to win the Champions League because you get the opportunity to win it in another country. So Guardiola will have those motivations and aspirations to go and win the European Cup with the team that he’s at.“And when he’s done that, that’s when I would forecast he will feel his job is complete in Germany. Once he’s done that he will feel he’s free to move on, but I wouldn’t envisage him leaving until he’s cracked it.”last_img read more
